Drug Control Administration (DCA), Directorate of Health Services, Manipur has issued a stern warning to chemists, medical stores, fitness centres, and public regarding the illegal sale and use of the injection Mephentermine.
In an order issued Monday, drug inspector Y Ronen noted that Mephentermine is being sold illegally in some pharmacies and promoted by certain fitness centres, causing significant harm to youth of the state.
The order emphasised that non-prescribed use of Mephentermine, particularly without medical supervision, can lead to addiction and severe health consequences.
Any sales, purchases, or promotions of Mephentermine without a prescription and the supervision of a Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) constitute a legal offence.
The order warned that individuals and establishments involved in these illegal activities will face legal action and be prosecuted in a court of law.
