Agri Dept revamps regulations on fertilisers

Imphal, May 15 2022:
Department of Agriculture has revamped the regulations on selling of fertilisers in the state with Directorate of Agriculture made the only authorised dealer of urea.
The department has also ordered that private wholesalers/retailers may sell other fertilisers at rate not exceeding MRP.
In an office memorandum issued on May 13, agriculture director notified to all concerned including farmers, wholesalers, retailers, district agriculture officers (DAOs) and sub-divisional agriculture officers (SDAOs) that assistant fertiliser officers/DAOs/SDAOs of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Senapati, Tamenglong, Chandel, Churachandpur and Ukhrul are the only authorised retailer for selling urea through Directorate of Agriculture in the state.
Private wholesalers/retailers of the state will sell fertilisers (DAP/SSP/MOP/ NPKS) at a rate not higher than the printed price via POS machine only, and private retailers permissible to sell products of their registered company, it added.
