RIMS Director inaugurates stretcher trolleys, interacts with injured BSF personnel

Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Thursday inaugurated 60 high-end C-Arm compatible stretcher trolleys, marking a significant step toward enhancing patient care infrastructure.
The event represents the largest single purchase of these trolleys in India, reaffirming RIMS' commitment to adopting advanced medical equipment for improved healthcare delivery.
According to a release issued by RIMS, the stretcher trolleys, manufactured by Paramount Japan, are designed to offer superior mobility and compatibility with C-Arm imaging systems, ensuring seamless intraoperative and emergency care.
They are already in use at AIIMS New Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, and other leading institutions.
In casualty settings, where every minute counts, these trolleys can save valuable time, as patients do not need to be shifted from the trolley to hospital beds, X-ray tables, or minor OTs.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar said, "The procurement of these high-end C-Arm compatible stretcher trolleys is a transformative step for RIMS, Imphal.
It will significantly improve patient transportation, surgical efficiency, and overall hospital workflow.
We remain committed to providing world class healthcare services to the people of Manipur and beyond".
Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal was also present at the event.
Meanwhile, RIMS, Imphal also observed World Kidney Day 2025 today with an awareness program focused on promoting kidney health and preventing renal diseases.
The event, organised by the Department of Nephrology, RIMS, Imphal, was graced by Director of RIMS, Imphal; Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; Dean (Academics) of RIMS and Head of the Department of Nephrology, RIMS.
Moreover, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, on Wednesday visited RIMS Hospital and interacted with the injured Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who were admitted following a tragic road accident in Kangpokpi district.
The accident, which occurred on March 11, 2025, near Changoubung village, involved a vehicle carrying 16 BSF personnel that plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in the unfortunate loss of three jawans and multiple injuries.
Among the injured, two personnel remain in serious condition, while two have been discharged after receiving medical care.
Prof G Sunil Kumar personally inquired about the well-being of the injured personnel and assured them of the best possible medical treatment.
He commended the dedication of the RIMS medical team for their swift response in providing critical care to the injured soldiers.
"Our medical team is doing everything possible to ensure the best treatment for the injured personnel.
RIMS stands committed to serving those who dedicate their lives to the nation's security", said the Director.
