Awareness programme on COVID-19 and Black Fungus held

Imphal, June 12 2021: An awareness programme on Black Fungus and COVID-19 was held at the community hall at Keishampat Keisham Leikai today.

The awareness programme was jointly organised by Covid Care Committee of Keishamthong AC and Manipur Central Youth Club under the aegis of Directorate of Health Services, Govt of Manipur.

Deputy Director of Health Services, Dr RK Rosie and Senior Medical Officer, Dr Jubilee Wahengbam spoke in detail about COVID-19 and Black Fungus and sensitized the people on the issues.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA of Keishamthong AC and chairperson of the Committee, L Jayantakumar elaborated about the activities by mankind which disrupts the natural cycle of the environment and the after effects mankind has to face.

Talking in context of the grim situation of COVID-19 pandemic, he said that one has not been able to tackle the problem of ongoing second wave of COVID-19 pandemic fully but now the problem of Black Fungus has emerged adding more woes to the already suffering people.

Therefore he called for concerted efforts from all to fight against the deadly pandemic by strictly following the Covid guidelines and protocols.
