AR aids Agniveer aspirants, conducts plantation drive

In its ongoing efforts to engage and support local youth, Assam Rifles organised a Guidance Session' and pre medical drive for local youths, who cleared the Common Entrance Test (CET) of the Agniveer entry scheme, at Kangvai village, Churachandpur district.
The session was attended by 34 young aspirants (13 females and 21 males), including 10 who had already cleared the written exam and were trained by Assam Rifles from February 20 to April 19, 2024 at the Kangvai Camp.
Assam Rifles is also conducting an eight-week training programme to prepare these aspirants for the physical tests of the Agniveer recruitment rallies scheduled for August and September, 2024 .
The pre-medical drive assessed the medical condition of the individuals and provided guidance on maintaining physical fitness for the selection tests, said a release of PRO 1GAR (S) .
On the other-hand, Ka-song Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles in collaboration with village authorities organised a tree plantation and cleanliness drive in Kasong village, Kamjong district, on Thursday which had the participation of 48 locals, including five representatives from the Kasong village council and 28 students.
The villagers and Assam Rifles personnel planted 750 saplings and also cleaned areas adjacent to the Kasong-Thoubal road.
The local community, including village authorities, thanked Assam Rifles for raising awareness about environmental protection and also pledged to safeguard their natural resources.
The event was part of Assam Rifles' ongoing environmental initiatives, added the PRO.
