Imphal, April 08 2024: Worthy Wellness Foundation, Lucknow has honoured writer Wahengbam Nimaichand of Khurai Thangjam Leikai with Vishwa Rata Sanmaan 2024 in recognition of his contribution towards promotion of language and literature by publishing several books in Manipuri language.

Wahengbam Nimaichand, born on November 30, 1941 to late Kanhai and Leibaklei, is a writer and social worker.

Married to Ningthoujam Gourirani, the couple has four sons and four daughters.

He completed MA in Manipuri from JN University, Canchipur (now Manipur University).

Oja (prose, 1968), Ahing (poetry, 1970), Eisu Meerep Oirage (poetry, 2022), and Amam Angan Langdaida (lyrics/poetry, 2023) are some of his literary works worth mentioning.
