1 dead, 4 injured in head-on collision

Thoubal, August 04 2021: At least one person was killed and four others left injured after a Bajaj Auto collided head on with a Tata DI near Wangkhem Keithel area along Yairipok road of Thoubal district under Yairipok PS around 8.50 am on Wednesday.

The deceased person has been identified as Md Tayeb Ali (50) s/o (L) Shaokat Ali of Ngariyan Awang Leikai.

According to police report, the Tata DI (MN05C - 1830) coming from Thoubal side collided with the Bajaj Auto (MN01Y-9209) coming from the opposite direction.

Of the five occupants in the auto including the driver, one of them died at the spot while four others sustained serious injuries.

All four injured have been taken to JNIMS Hospital.

Yairipok Police Station has registered a case in this regard and the body deposited at JNIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
