Clean India Campaign concludes

Thoubal, October 31 2021:
The month long clean India campaign organised jointly by Thoubal Municipal Council, NYK Thoubal, GPs, Red Cross Society, Lion's clubs and NSS Unit under the supervision Thoubal district administration since October 1 in Thoubal district concluded on Sunday at the council's Solid Waste Management Plant located at Thoubal Khunou.
The valedictory function of the Campaign held in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was attended by Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subhash, MAHUD joint director Mohd Yassar Ahamed Khan and Environment and Climate change joint director Tourangbam Brajakumar as presidium members.
A prize distribution programme for the first Plastic Waste Collection Tor Self Help Group of Thoubal Municipal Council was also held as a part of the programme.
Khuman Ningthou Self Help Group won the first prize while Khuman Leiima Self Help Group and Lanchenbi Self Help Group bagged second and third prize respectively.
Consolation prizes were also given to ten SHGs.
A total of 1518.70 kg of single used plastic was collected during the competition.
Speaking at the event, DC Subash urged the people to work together by organising such competition so as to make Thoubal plastic free zone.
