Rehab centre celebrates foundation day

The 2nd foundation day of Yaipokpa: The Rehabilitation and Child Care Centre was celebrated at its Kwakeithel Akham Leikai premises here on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) president Wangkhemcha Shamjai as chief guest and Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) president Jeetendra Ningomba as functional president.
Speaking at the event, AMWJU president Shamjai opined as that there has been rampant rise in drug abuse cases in the state amongst youth in the age group of 13 to 20 years, the government cannot remain mute spectator but take appropriate action to save the future pillars of the society.
While pointing out that parents also have a huge role to play in saving their wards from the menace of drugs by closely monitoring their activities, the chief guest stressed the need for every person in the state to join the fight against drugs.
He also urged rehabilitation centres not to indulge in profit making.
