Imphal, August 27 2022: Under Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yojana (RKVY) and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), Department of Agriculture organised a one-day farmers' training programme on 'Pest management and quality seed production of rice' and 'Water conservation management' at Sikibung in Kamjong district on Saturday.

The training programme was attended by agriculture department additional director Todinang Panmei, deputy director Ak Chittaranjan, RKVY nodal officer Th Joyprakash and PMKSY nodal officer Rk Virendra among others.

As a part of the initiatives taken up by department of agriculture for welfare of farmers, knapsack sprayers were also distributed to the farmers at the event.

During the programme attended by more than 100 farmers, experts and resource persons thoroughly explained on how to enhance food productivity by preventing crops from pest and also the ways to ensure abundant supply of water to the crops.
