Skill training organised for camp inmates

District Skill Committee, Kakching in collaboration with Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) organised a day-long Skill Development Training for making Phenyl, liquid dishwash and liquid brass/copper cleaner for the inmates of Langmeidong Higher Secondary School relief camp, Kakching on Monday.
The training participated by 33 inmates was conducted under the project "Leibaklei" which was recently launched by Kakching deputy commissioner Somorjit Salam to empower inmates with skills for self-reliance and sustainability.
Coordinator of the training programme, MGNF-Kakching, Irom Abesana Devi enlightened the inmates on how the Committee chaired by the DC has been undertaking skill training programmes specifically for inmates of relief camp across the district under the said project.
She also encouraged the inmates to sell the products manufactured by them under the brand name "LEIBAKLEI" so that people may be more aware of the products manufactured by the inmates of relief camps.
MSRLM District Coordinator (non-farm) Salman Sheikh, Block Mission manager, Mayanglambam Subhashchandra Singh, cluster coordinator Naorem Gobin Singh and District Coordinator (farm) Laikhuram Banar-jee Singh, who is leading the programme, also expressed their gratitude over the successful completion of the day-long skill training programme.
Speaking at the programme, trainers M Sonia Devi, an active member of Chaokhat Khongthang VLF (Village level Federation) and Sofiya Devi of Nupi Sintha VLF assured that SHGs of Langmeidong Block would help create market linkage of the products manufactured by the inmates.
