Bishnupur, February 26 2023: With the objective to promote Moirang Sai art form, which originated from Moirang in Bishnupur district, Moirang Jati Memorial Trust observed the 1st Moirang Sai Day at Yumkhaibam Mandop, Moirang on Saturday.

Moirang Thangjing Cheirap Loishang's Ingu Khadrakpa S Ibochouba, Moirang Jati Memorial Trust president RK Meru and Manipur University of Culture assistant professor Makhonmani Mongshaba attended the observance function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Floral tributes were paid to the portraits of Philem ningol Ningthoumayum pngbi Jati and her companion Thokchom ningol Oinam ongbi Kamini, who contributed towards popularising the art form.

Assistant professor Makhonmani Mongshaba spoke on the topic of'Moirang Jati as a folk artiste' as a resource person during the function.
