COVID-19 mass vaccination and testing conducted widely

Imphal, June 25 2021:
Mass vaccination and testing for COVID-19 were conducted at different places across the State with an aim to protect the people from COVID-19 and to contain the further spread of the pandemic.
Sagolband
The second phase of mass Covid vaccination programme for Sagolband Assembly Constituency commenced today at Bijoy Govinda Centre.
The vaccination programme will be undertaken for all people from Sagolband who are above the age of 18 years and any person may come and get themselves registered at the centre and vaccinate themselves.
RK Imo Singh, MLA of Sagolband AC visited the vaccination centre today and also got himself vaccinated.
He said that the Centre has been opened to cater to the services of the people of Sagolband and nearby areas.
RK Imo Singh further stated that Mobile Vaccination Centres have also been opened from today onwards at Amudon which will be followed by Thangjam Leirak and Ingudam Leirak on June 26, LDA Soibam Leikai on June 28 and so on.
He continued that more than 50 percent of the people till date and asserted that one will never be safe till all are vaccinated.
However there are some localities which has very less vaccination ratio and there will be a push to increase vaccination in those areas, thus the double strategy of mobile vaccination across localities and normal vaccination at Bijoy Govinda have been taken up, he added.
He requested all the members of Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee and local clubs for the success of such vaccination drives.
The MLA also thanked the staff of Health Department and DC of Imphal West for coordinating and making this possible.
RK Imo Singh further said that, there will be a vaccination reward to the locality committee/club which has the best vaccination ratio by the end of the month of August.
The three best polling/localities with the best vaccination ratio will be given a prize of Rs 50000 (rupees fifty thousand), Rs 30,000 (Rupees thirty thousand) and Rs 20,000 (Rupees twenty thousand).
Meanwhile, a free Covid testing programme was held yesterday at the community hall of Semgat Sagatpa Apunba Naharol (SSAN) at Sagolband Thangjam Leirak.
The programme has been organised by The Lions Club of Imphal Central in connection with its 6th Charter Nite in association with Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Imphal West and SSAN, said a press release by the Lions Club of Imphal Central.
In the Covid testing programme, 4 persons were found, to be Covid positive out of 104 persons tested, added the statement.
Mayang Imphal
A mass vaccination drive for COVID-19 was held at Shantipur Mayai Leikai today in Mayang Imphal AC.
The drive was organised by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Imphal West in association with Shamushang Shantipur Youth Club under the aegis of Deputy Speaker Kongkham Robindro.
Speaking on the occasion, K Robindro said that CMO Imphal West in association with PHC Mayang Imphal will be organising mass Covid vaccination campaigns at different locations in the constituency in a bid to vaccinate all the locals who are above 18 years of age without fail by the end of July month.
He appealed to all to get vaccinated and strictly follow the Covid guidelines issued by the Government to protect oneself from COVID-19 .
Waiton
Waiton Gram Panchayat COVID-19 Second Wave Task Force organised a mass testing cum vaccination for COVID-19 at the community hall of Waiton Gram Panchayat today.
A press release by the Task Force said that mass testing cum vaccination drive for COVID-19 have been conducted for the fifth time including today's drive.
Around 108 persons were tested today and 4 were found to be Covid positive and a total of 120 individuals were vaccinated today.
Pradhan of Waiton Gram Panchayat, Pukhrambam Surbala appealed to all to get vaccinated taking advantage of the free vaccination drives.
The Task Force also extended gratitude to all who supported today's Covid mass vaccination and testing programme.
