Imphal, June 24 2021: Water Resources and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip distributed relief items and financial aid to people of Sugnu area in Chandel AC yesterday.

Speaking at an event held at Sokom Upper Primary School, Letpao Haokip said the relief items were distributed to ease the woes of the people suffering due to the pandemic.

The pandemic has caused many hardships and also has claimed many lives and in order to prevent loss of lives in future due to the pandemic, everyone should observe all the Standrad Operating Procedures(SOPs) as mandated by the Government, he appealed.

He also appealed the public not to believe the rumours and fake news about COVID-19 vaccines circulating in social media and others as the vaccines are being used to inoculate the public after due research and trials conducted by scientists yield satisfactory results.

The relief items distributed were 1 bag of rice and Rs 500 to each of 1500 families in Sugnu area.

Earlier, relief items were also distributed to villages along the Indo Myanmar border under the supervision of Minister Letpao Haokip.
