AR conducts mega ex-service rally at Tuibong

Assam Rifles, in an initiative to serve and aid the veterans, organised a mega ex-servicemen rally at Tuibong Peace Ground, Churachandpur district on Monday, drawing over 536 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents.
The rally was attended by Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera and Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) Maj Gen Ravroop Singh, alongside dignitaries from the civil administration and community leaders.
The event commenced with a Warm welcome to the dignitaries to the tunes of Assam Rifles Pipe Band, followed by speech by Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera to honour the veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents, acknowledging their invaluable contributions.
He also reaffirmed Assam Rifles' unwavering com mitment for welfare of the veterans and their families.
According to a release issued by PRO IGAR (S), the ex-servicemen and Veer Naris were felicitated and provided with essential medical aids, including motorised wheelchairs, as well as household amenities such as refrigerators.
The event also featured a vibrant cultural performance by M Songgel Youth Club and a musical presentation by a young artiste, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the region.
Several service-oriented stalls were set up for the attendees, including those from the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association (ARESA) Directorate, Pension Cell, Aadhaar Card services, banks, mobile service providers, and state government departments such as Horticulture, Fisheries, Rural Livelihood Mission, and Handloom.
A medical and dental camp, staffed by specialist doctors, offered healthcare services to the participants.
The ARESA Directorate also facilitated grievance redressal for veterans, ensuring their concerns were addressed efficiently.
