Medical aid extended to senior citizen

Imphal, June 16 2021:
44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/HQ IGAR (East) provided emergency medical assistance to one Damayantry Bhattarai, a 90 years old woman from Panikheti village of Kangpokpi district on Tuesday.
In a release, PIB Defence informed that the elderly woman was unwell for more than a month with respiratory problem and dysphasia associated with generalise weakness.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, access to medical facilities for her had become difficult.
On Tuesday, suddenly she developed breathing problem and general weakness.
Since the medical team of Tamenglong battalion was conducting a mobile Covid vaccination drive in the nearby village along with the Public Health Staff of T Waichong, the relatives of the patient rushed to the unit team seeking medical help.
The Chief Medical Officer accompanied by his team immediately rushed to the house and carried out detailed examination and it was found that the lady was suffering from geriatric syndrome, accordingly counselling was done and required medication provided on the spot following which patient showed sign of improvement which not only provided relief to the patient but also to her relatives.
The patient was also advised for regular follow up at MI Room of Banglabung Company Operating Base of 44 Assam Rifles.
