TASO highlights issues in Tousem Sub-division

Tamenglong, July 13 2021: The Tousem Area Students' Organisation extended their appreciation to the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Minister, Awangbow Newmai for his concern and bravery in visiting Tousem area amidst the unprecedented challenges resulting from the ongoing pandemic.

A press release issued by TASO mentioned, that Tousem area is facing social and economic distresses due to various myriads of shortfalls in the administrative division and infrastructural growth.

TASO highlighted some of the issues plaguing the area and urged the Minister to intervene for a better Tousem Sub-division.

The grievances includes- Repairing of the roads between Tamenglong and Tousem (60 Km approx), and Kaiphundai & Tousem (55 Km approx); To fill the vacant post of the Tousem Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO); Acute shortage of electricity in Tousem area especially during the rainy season and the need for permanent linesmen; Shifting of Sub-Divisional Office to Tousem Headquarters before August 15, 2021 .
