Imphal, November 11 2024: Assam Rifles observed World Immunisation Day by conducting awareness drives and medical camps at Sehlon, Kovang, Kachinbung, Tuitong, Old Samtal, and New Samtal villages in Chandel district from November 1 till Sunday.

This initiative aimed to educate local communities on the critical importance of immunisation, particularly in remote areas with limited access to healthcare services.

The campaign featured the distribution of informational leaflets and posters placed in key locations to highlight the benefits of vaccines in preventing infectious diseases and safeguarding family health, a release by PRO IGAR (S) said.

The release also informed that children actively participated in rallies, chanting slogans that promoted vaccination awareness.

An informative lecture was also conducted to emphasise the significance of timely vaccinations for individuals of all age groups.

Additionally, medical camps offered health check-ups and consultations, encouraging residents to adhere to regular vaccination schedules, it added.
