Inferno guts old Fishery office

Imphal, August 11 2021: The old office of Lamphel Fisheries located near Imphal West DC was completely destroyed in an early morning fire on Wednesday.

According to a report, the fire broke out around 2.30 am.

On receiving news of the incident, a team led by Fire Service joint director rushed to the scene and tried to extinguish the flames.

In all, 5 water tenders were utilised.

Despite the efforts, majority of the office and properties including many important documents were found reduced to ashes.

The fire was finally put off around 7am.Later, fisheries minister S Rajen arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known, the report added.
