Brothers condemns Mon killings

Imphal, December 10 2021: Brothers, a group of friends formed to bring a change in Chandel district, condemned the Oting (Mon district) killings and called for repealing the Armed Forces Special Power Act (1958) - AFSPA in Manipur.

Raising its voice against the brutal and inhuman act of the security forces, Brothers on Friday raised a banner at the Sports Complex of Chandel Christian in Chandel district calling for repeal of the draconian law.

Member of the Brothers Ps Raylee Anal stated that ASFPA has done no good to the people of North East other than taking away numerous innocent lives.

The Oting incident is one such example where AFSPA has been misused by the security forces, Raylee said, adding that the draconian law will never bring peace in the region.

To bring peace and trust on the governments in the North East, repealing AFSPA is the only way, Raylee added.
