MIKAL calls to halt hounding of village volunteers

Malem Ima Kanba Lup (MIKAL), Kangleipak said that search operations being conducted to round up village volunteers guarding fringe villages and confiscate arms from them before solution to the unrest situation is unreasonable and hence government must stop hounding the village volunteers with immediate effect.
MIKAL president Yumnam Kamalini told media persons at Manipur Press Club on Sunday that the conflict since May 3, 2023 intensified after Kuki narco-terrorists used weaponised drones and rockets to target innocent civilians.
Despite the fresh attacks by Kuki narco-terrorists using high-tech weapons causing civilian casualties, the government is remaining inactive and doing nothing to end the war, she said and warned that the people might resort to extreme steps decision if the government fails to act as per pulse of the people.
