Imphal, June 08 2022: Imphal West district police commandos on Wednesday carried out search operation in several areas of the district.

According to a source, a commando of the district conducted searches from 6.40 am to 8.10 am at Singjamei Okram Leikai, Leishangthem Leikai and Oinam Thingel during which around 55 houses were searched and 60 people, including 7 UGs out on bail, were verified.

However, no one was arrested during the operation.

Another team of the district commando carried out search operation in Polo ground, Leima Shopping and Paona Bazar areas from 4.30 pm to 5.20 pm.

In all, 185 people were verified and 5 people without proper identity cards were sent to City police for further verification.

They were later released after proper verification, it added.
