Imphal, December 06 2021: Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) organised a one-day discussion programme based on the theme of promoting thang-ta at the primary school level and importance of possessing thang-ta completion course certificate, at JN Manipur Dance Academy hall here on Monday.

During the programme, teachers and representatives of different Thang-Ta organisations expressed their opinions and several resolutions were adopted.

The resolutions include urging the state government to incorporate Thang-Ta education from primary level, for which the Thang-Ta Common Syllabus Committee should act immediately and appointing teachers/experts to implement the policy within 5 months; formation of a public committee within 3 months to realise the objectives of the Common Syllabus Committee; for the government to take up necessary action to recognise Thang-Ta certificate, within 15 days; formation of Joint Committee for Thang-Ta syllabus and discipline and for the state government to prevail upon the central government to recognise Thang-Ta as a national sport discipline.
