Imphal, September 06 2024:
Assam Rifles hosted a Teachers' Day celebration at the Assam Rifles Centre of Educational Excellence (ARCEE) in Somsai, Ukhrul on Thursday.
ARCEE is a residential coaching facility providing NEET coaching for female students from various communities and districts of Manipur, helping them pursue careers in medicine.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the project coordinator, followed by cultural and traditional dance performances by the students.
A total of 35 students and 4 teachers participated in the event.
The students and teachers thanked Assam Rifles for offering a high-quality learning platform that opens doors to numerous opportunities, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles provided assistance to civilians affected by heavy rain in Ukhrul town.
On August 12, 2024, heavy rain and adverse weather conditions caused the collapse of a newly constructed wall of a house, resulting in injuries to three individuals and the tragic death of a 2-year-old boy.
The affected family sought help from the Assam Rifles for the reconstruction of their damaged home.
In response, the Assam Rifles provided CGI sheets, mattresses, electrical fittings, and other essential items to support the family, said the PRO in another release.
