Sit-in protests monetary demands

Thoubal, August 06 2024: Denouncing demand notes served by various organisations including armed outfits, Waithou Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Waithou Educated Youth Association (WEYA Club) Waithou jointly organised a sit-in protest at Waithou on Tuesday.

Speaking to reports on the sidelines, Meira Paibi Lup secretary Mutum Bijiya reminded all concerned that Waithou villagers have been affected by the current crisis as most depend on small businesses, which come to a grinding due to the unrest situation.

Amidst the suffering, they are now facing monetary demands of unbearable amount from certain organisations.

Bijiya also called for an immediate halt to these monetary demands from people in a five localities of Waithou.
