Training prog, medical camp, security meet held

Assam Rifles conducted a four-week physical training programme in Chandel from August 11 for candidates who successfully passed the Agniveer entrance test.
The training had participants from all communities, offering them expert guidance and mentorship in physical fitness, endurance, and disciplined living.
In addition to this initiative, a medical camp was held on September 4, 2024, led by the senior medical officer of Assam Rifles, providing eye, ENT, and dental examinations along with routine medical check-ups, according to a release of PRO IGAR (S).
Assam Rifles also organised a comprehensive health check-up and counselling session at Kankhu Drugs Rehabilitation Centre in Chandel where senior medical officer and his team provided vital support to individuals on their path to recovery, offering medical assistance and counselling.
Meanwhile, to empower local youth and improve their employability and self-sustenance, Assam Rifles reportedly organised month-long skill development training programme focused on carpentry and electrician trades.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants numbering 42 youths from Heirok village were provided carpentry and electrician tool kits.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles organised a security meet with commanders from 10th Battalion BSF, 4th, 25th, 31st and 49th ITBP, along with Assam Rifles at T Lailoiphai, Sangaikot sub-division in Churachandpur district to enhance coordination and synergy amid the ongoing conflict.
The meet focused on improving inter-force communication, strategizing for potential contingencies and ensuring regional stability to the area incident-free.
All the CAPF commanders agreed to make coordinated plans to effectively control the area and ensure timely information sharing among the forces.
Meanwhile, a friendly volleyball match was organised for local youth.
The event, themed "Healthy Mind Resides in a Healthy Body" aimed to encourage young people to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.
50 players from nearby villages took part in the match, inspiring them to consider joining the Indian Army and Assam Rifles.
The Assam Rifles also gifted sports equipment to the youth, the PRO said in another release.
