World Hepatitis Day observed at Thoubal district hospital

Thoubal, August 02 2024: As in other parts of the globe, District Health Society, Thoubal organised World Hepatitis Day on the theme 'It's time for action' at Thoubal district hospital conference hall on Friday.

The observance was attended by District Health Society, Thoubal chairman and deputy commissioner A Subhash Singh as chief guest, chief medical officer Dr Y Nokul Singh as president and district hospital medical superintendent Dr W Ruhinikumar Singh as guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Subhash pointed out that World Health Organisation (WHO) aims to eradicate Hepatitis within 2030 .

Informing that 86 individuals including 19 pregnant women tested positive for Hepatitis B in between April 2023 to May 2024, he said that 499 individuals also tested positive for Hepatitis C .

The DC urged all concerned to Conduct the test in every nook and corner of the district and treat those infected so as to help in elimination of Hepatitis from the world.
