Imphal, December 31 2021: As conducted every year, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) organised meet the media fraternity event at its office on Friday.

In his address, DESAM president Nameirakpam Edison said that media has been taking vital roles in dissemination of authentic news and information to the people.

In today's age of social media, the roles of media have been expanded and accordingly, spreading of fake news through social media needs to be filtered by the media, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, AMWJU secretary (administration) Longjam Arishrona lauded the students' body for acknowledging the role of the media persons and assured that the media will contribute its mite towards promoting quality education system in the state.
