Imphal, September 28 2021: The JAC formed in connection with the abduction and killing of Athuan Abonmai has postponed the proposed 24-hour total shutdown which was scheduled to begin midnight of September 29 .

In a statement, JAC con venor Majabung Gangmei informed that the total shutdown was postponed after a request from Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur and Lamyanba Irabot Ningsing Thouram Observation Committee in connection with the 125th Birth Anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot.

On the other hand, many have extended support to the bandh imposed by the JAC along NH-37 and NH-2.Shops along the said routes remained closed, while stones were piled in the middle of the road in Sekmai.

However, there were no reports of any unwanted incidents.
