Edibles distributed to stranded truck drivers

Imphal, August 25 2024:
Food items were provided to the truck drivers, who are stranded along the NH-2 (Imphal- Dimapur road), by the Senapati District Drivers Welfare Union and Surface Transport Hill Area Drivers' Welfare Union, under the auspices of All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers' Union.
A total of 275 trucks are stranded along NH-2 due to landslide in Zubza near Lalmati in Nagaland for the past 10 days.
The distributed items included rice, lentils, potatoes, and onions.
The drivers' unions have also called on the Manipur government to convey to the Nagaland government about the drivers' plight and expedite repairing of the deteriorated portions of the national highway.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers' Union secretary Maimom Anil Meitei, has urged anyone facing issues with food supplies or other needs to contact the Drivers' Union office at Tadubi.
