Imphal, April 23 2022: As part of the state government's 'War on Drugs' campaign, the home department will organise a seminar cum interactive workshop for public prosecutors and police officers at City Convention Centre, Palace Gate on Sunday 10 am.

Chief Minister N Biren will inaugurate the programme, to be attended by members from the police department and judiciary.

The workshop will have discussion sessions among representatives of NCB, retired public prosecutor and NAB team and will cover topics related to seizure procedures of narcotics, charge sheet in criminal cases, cases preparation, charge sheet under CrPC and other laws with reference to cases involving narcotic drugs, crime against women and offences under NDPS Act and PIT NDPS Act.

Process of investigation, trial, relevant provisions of Indian Evidence Act, rulings of Supreme Court and High Court on the subject matters, enforcement of NDPS and PIT NDPS Act, the challenges and important court rulings would also be discussed during the seminar cum workshop.
