Imphal, December 22 2021:
Works Minister Th Biswajit has urged young people of state to focus on self-employment to increase the number of entrepreneurs in the state and generate employment for others, instead of idling away their time waiting for government jobs.
BJYM 5th Thongju Manual organised a Yuva Sammelan programme at Pebiya Pandit Leikai Community Hall on Wednesday.
Speaking as chief guest of the programme, Biswajit remarked that India is a young country, with around 60-65 percent of its population consisting of young people.
As such, the PM Modi-led government has been taking up various skill training programmes to help the youth become independent.
However, there is still a fear among the youth of not getting jobs, which is demoralising.
Fortunately, the government had introduced many start-up programmes to help the youth become entrepreneurs and generate more jobs, thereby helping to lower the non-employment rates.
Stressing the need to increase the number of entrepreneurs, the minister said that everyone needs to realise the important role played by the youth in bringing changes in the society.
This is known only by the BJP government, he stated and urged the youth of Thongju to aid in spreading the works undertaken by the government.
He continued: "Politics is a competition.
In this digital age, people easily know what work has been taken up through social media.
However, people should only consider the benefits of what is being uploaded on social media regarding the developments in the constituency, while disregarding the unimportant ones".
Commenting on the baseless news being circulated regarding the developmental works in the constituency, Biswajit exhorted the young people to handle the matter in a positive manner and prevent it from derailment.
He then said that it is the responsibility of the youth to spread the welfare activities carried out by BJP to the people via digital platforms.
Presided over by BJP Thongju Mandal president L Tomba, 5/12 Booth president A Chaoba attended as guest of honour.
Biswajit also held an interaction with the young people of the constituency.
