Teachers' no-show upsets students

Imphal, November 22 2021: Students of Oriental College, Takyelpat have expressed displeasure over absence of teaching staffof the college when they came for attending classes after some teachers informed them of resumption of normal classes of the college from Monday.

Interacting with the media, some first semester students of the college said that following the recent government order for resumption of physical classes, some of the teachers told them to attend normal classes from Monday 10 am.

However, they could pot find maximum of the teaching staff and many of the department offices remained closed till 12 noon.

They had to return home without attending any classes, the students rued.

On the other hand, college principal S Ranjit said that there is no approval from the college authority to begin physical classes for 1st and 3rd semester students and the approval was only for the 5th semester.

For other semesters, online classes are continuing regularly and the college teachers were not able to reach college in time due to the online classes, he said.
