UCM distributes inputs to farmers

Imphal, August 22 2022:
In continuation of its campaign for attaining self-reliance in food grain, United Committee Manipur (UCM) organised a one-day farmers' training programme at Yairipok Bishnunaha and distributed 50 bags of urea and Rabi crop seeds to the participating farmers on Monday.
Wangkhem ZP member Kh Sobha, UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam, Angtha GP pradhan Th Manihal and UCM Yairipok unit advisor Ibotombi Khumancha attended the programme as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, UCM secretary general Ng Deva informed that it is carrying out the campaign to encourage and empower farmers in order to bring self-reliance in terms of food production and boost the economy of the state.
He stressed the need for taking up immediate initiatives for restoring the soil health so as to enable sustainable production of foods.
UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam said that sincerity and commitment on the part of the 60 MLAs including the 12 ministers can bring significant development in the state.
Improving the agriculture sector can help the state compete with the rest of the country, he said while urging all the MLAs to stop playing politics in provision of urea to farmers.
