Lianchinthang Hangshing reveals plan to contest polls

CCpur, September 20 2021: An intending candidate for the forthcoming state assembly polls, Lianchinthang Hangshing on Sunday convened a press conference at his Ngathal residence in Churachandpur and revealed the reason behind his intention to contest election from 58 Churachanpur constituency.

When asked what prompted him to make his foray into politics, Lianchinthang said that he wanted to raise issues pertaining to Hill Areas Committee (HAC) membership, proposed ADC Bill 2021 and land matters of hill areas.

He further said that many incumbent hill-based MLAs/ministers are reluctant to raise such issues, adding that the matters need to be addressed to let the world know how unfair the tribal people are being treated.

Lianchinthang then added that he would try to contest the election on an Aam Aadmi party ticket or join the fray as an independent candidate.
