River Festival-2021 held in Jiribam

Jiribam, December 19 2021:
As part of Azadi KAmrit Mahotsav, which is being celebrated to commemorate the 75th year of India's independence, River Festival-2021 (Nadi Utsay) was organised in Jiribam under the joint aegis of Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Jal Shakti on Sunday.
The River Festiyal-2021 held at the auditorium of Jiribam Higher Secondary School was jointly organised by Friendly Environment Warriors (FEW) of state Forest Department, AMSU and Wildlife Institute of India.
AMSU Jiribam district committee advisor B Sarat Sharma and FEW vice president Kshetrimayum Dayabanta were presidium members of the event which witnessed a slide presentation on 'River and wetland conservation' by Wildlife Institute of India project scientist Dr Chongpi Tuboi.
An on-the-spot painting competition on the theme 'Save River, Save Life' was also organised for school students in three categories as part of the festival.
