CM urged to pull out ineffective central forces

Imphal, January 18 2024:
Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the brutal killing of Takhellambam Manoranjan Singh, Thiyam Konjin has submitted memorandum to chief minister N Biren on Thursday for removal of ineffective central forces from the state and empower state forces.
The JAC convened an emergency meeting at SOLO Club, Thiyam Konkin and adopted several resolutions including demand for handing over of Unified Command chairman to Manipur chief minister, withdraw the SoO pact signed between Kuki militants and central government, stop divide and rule policy and implementation of NRC.
The government should resign en-masse if it cannot control the war waged against Meetei by Kuki militants, the resolution continued, while demanding removal of ineffective central forces and empower state forces.
Stating that the body of Takhellambam Manoranjan Singh will not be claimed until the demands are fulfilled, the resolution cautioned of launching intense forms of protest from January 19 if state government fails to translate their demands into action.
