Tamenglong DH discontinues free diet for patients

Noney, January 18 2022: Tamenglong District Hospital medical superintendent has served a notice on Monday that the hospital authdrity have discontinued the provision of free diet.

The decision was taken during the review meeting of Tamenglong District Health Society with deputy commissioner on January 5.The reason for discontinuing of free diet in the Hospital is due to the Directorate of Health Services riot sanctioning further funding for the programme.

According to a reliable source, no fund has been sanctioned by the Directorate since 2019 but the hospital administration had been providing free diet with much difficulty with no reimbursement by the state government even for those money spent in advance after availing from different sources.

Hence the decision to discontinue the provision of free diet was taken with much regret, it said.
