Assam Rifles conducts cleanliness drives

Assam Rifles conducted multiple cleanliness drives on Tuesday, as part of the nationwide "Swacchta Hi Seva" campaign.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the events were organised at Keithelmanbi, Mantripukhri, Sangaithel, Longa Koireng (Kangpokpi and Imphal West districts), as well as Thoubal, Lilong, Chandrakhong, Singjamei, Canchipur, and Chingmeirong spanning Imphal East, Imphal West, and Thoubal districts.
Troops actively engaged in cleaning their surroundings, removing waste, and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a hygienic environment.
A total of 570 troops pledged their commitment to the cleanliness movement.
Simultaneously, on the same day at Poi village, Ukhrul district, Assam Rifles held a cleanliness drive as part of the annual 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign, which runs from September 15 to October 2 to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.
This campaign, spearheaded by the prime minister, emphasises creating a clean environment through innovative initiatives, community involvement, and promoting the principle of 'Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle', said the PRO.
