Irabot Foundation Manipur celebrates

Imphal, June 16 2021: Irabot Foundation Manipur (IFM) which was founded on June 16, 1996 by Father of Social Worker Thounaojam Iboyaima celebrated its 25th Silver Jubilee foundation day through online mode on Wednesday.

In a release, IFM secretary general Kh Gopen Luwang stated that the Foundation has been working for the welfare of farmers, labourers and fishermen of the state since its formation.

The Foundation had initiated the Greening Manipur, Grow More Food, Protection and Preservation of Agricultural Land in Manipur and Know your Scheme campaigns to make the state self-reliant on food production.

It had organised numerous conventions/seminars/ workshops to create awareness on various issues as well as organising Poinu Meefam-1 and 2 for farmers along with awarding exceptional farmers, it noted.

The time has come for sowing of Kharif crops with increase in rainfall.

So, the government and authority concerned must improve irrigation facility in the state, distribute seeds and fertilizers on time to farmers, it appealed.

IFM continued that its president Th Ajit on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee extended his wishes to people of the state.

He also mourned the deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and prayed that the departed souls rest in eternal peace.
