Trees planted to celebrate foundation day

Imphal, May 15 2022: Forest & Environment Development Organisation, Manipur (FEDOM) celebrated its foundation by planting tree saplings at Phunal Maring village, Imphal East on Sunday.

Speaking at the event, FEDOM convenor,Nongmaithem Imocha informed that the tree plantation programme has been initiated to contribute the organisation's mite towards checking deforestation in both the hills and the valley of Manipur as well as to celebrate its foundation day and in connection with the upcoming environment day observance.

Manipur can become a green state if every community residing in different parts continues to plant tree saplings.

A bond of unity and communal harmony could also be brought through such activity, he maintained, while informing that the tree saplings were provided by Forest Department Iroishemba Beat officer Pebam Romesh.
