JAC sticks to demand for shifting of MIE

Imphal, September 14 2022: JAC against the establishment of Khoirom MIE in residential area and owners of saw mills of Minor Industrial Estate (MS) have not reached any understanding, stated JAC spokesperson Lourembam Mani.

Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Wednesday, Mani said that a public meeting was held at Khoirom on September 4 regarding establishment of MIE in residential area.

The meeting, also attended by local ZP member and pradhans, reached no understanding wkh owners of saw mills of MIE (Minor Industrial Estates) but rather resolved for shifting the MIE from Khoirom in view of the air and noise pollution from the saw mils in the localities.

Contrary to decision of the public meeting, it was very unfortunate that saw mill owners claimed to have reached an understanding through a media statement, Mani said, adding that the claim of mill owners was baseless and the JAC will stick to its decision of shifting MIE from Khoirom.
