Moijing bandh extended

The 12-hour bandh imposed by Moijing Khongok Development Committee Thoubal Moijing along Thoubal - MI Road from 6am Saturday against the attempt to shift 31/1 (A) Polling Station of Moijing Leingoijil, disrupted normal life in the area.
On Saturday morning, large number of people came out and put up barricades along the road leading to Moijing Meena Bazar, in addition to burning used tyres on the road.
A team led by Additional SP Thoubal arrived at the scene and tried to bring about an amicable solution.
However, the bandh supporters refused to yield and continued on with their protests.
Later, Moijing Khongok Development Committee Thoubal Moijing convened a public meeting wherein it was resolved to extend the bandh till 6 pm Sunday, along with continuation of further protests until the demands of the people are fulfilled.
