Sanajaoba chairs meet on Mera Hou Chongba

Imphal, October 11 2024: The State-Level Organising Committee for Mera Hou Chongba 2024 festival convened a meeting at Sana Konung, Palace Compound, here, on Friday with Rajya Sabha MP and titular king of Manipur Leishemba Sanajaoba charring the meeting.

Mera Hou Chongba, a festival symbolising the bond of brotherhood and solidarity among the native communities of Manipur, is celebrated annually on the full moon day of Meetei lunar month Mera.

This year the festival will take place on October 17 .

The meeting focused on preparations for the festival, which is known for fostering unity among the diverse communities in the state.

Those who attended the meeting discussed plans for a successful and inclusive celebration of the traditional event.
