Imphal, November 09 2024: Unidentified person(s) shot Diabetes Hospital and Research Centre managing director Dr M Dhanabir and injured his left arm on Saturday.

He is undergoing treatment at JNIMS hospital following the incident.

According to police, unidentified person(s) shot Dr M Dhanabir near his hospital located at Ayang Palli Soibam Leikai under Porompat police station at around 6 pm.

Four bullet marks were also found on the ambulance van of the hospital.

Upon receiving the information, a team of forensic science inspected the spot and recovered three spent bullet casings.

Porompat police station has registered a case for further investigations, the source added.
