Public meet discusses drone, rocket attacks

A public meet aimed at uniting the people amid at-tacks by Kuki militants was held Sunday at Khumbong bazar in Imphal West district under the initiative of Imphal West Students' Club, Khumbong.
The public meet presided by Club vice president Dr Atom Nanda Singh attended by representatives of clubs and Meira Paibi groups of localities from Sangaithel to Kamong, adopted resolution to demand deployment of state forces in vulnerable fringe villages to thwart attack by Kuki narco-terrorists.
It also resolved that the new strategy used by the Kuki narco-terrorists in attacking civilians like weaponised drones and rockets must end at the earliest or else people might demand restoration of Manipur's pre-merger status.
Regarding the public meet, Students' Club patron member Dr Yaikhomba Taorem told media persons that the meet discussed safety measures public must take up against possible drone and rocket attacks.
He said that all the fringe villages need to be guarded 24 hours as drone attack may happen anytime.
