Probe artificial shortage LPG refills: BAAL

Bishnupur, August 08 2024: Bishnupur Akoiba Apunba Lup (BAAL) Women's Wing secretary Haomom Tomshatnabi has urged authority concerned to investigate at the earliest factors, if any, for consumers unable to procure LPG refills in areas under Khongnang Gas Agency in Bishnupur district.

Addressing a press meet at BAAL's office on Thursday, Tomshatnabi said that consumers of Khongnang Gas Agency are receiving subsidies in their bank accounts even though they have not received the LPG refills thereby causing confusion among the consumers.

However, the same refills are being sold in the black market at rates ranging from Rs 2000 to 2500, she maintained.

Urging authority concerned to ensure availability of LPG refills to the consumers at the earliest, she also demanded investigation into how the essential item is being sold in the black market at such high prices.
