Medical camp held, snake bitten girl saved

The 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) on Tuesday organised one day mega medical camp at Lamlaba village under Tamei sub division.
According to PIB Defence, the unit organised free wellness camp "Ayush Ka Amrut" celebrating 75 years of Independence as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The battalion utilised five medical doctors for the camp during which medicines were provided to doorsteps of the locals.
The district medical staff from Tamenglong and Tamei including lady doctor also took part at the camp.
Meanwhile, Khoupum Battalion of IGAR (South) extended lifesaving medical assistance to a snake bite victim of Namkaolong village in Noney district on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), an 11-year old girl bitten by a venomous snake was brought by the villagers to the Gaidimjang Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles.
The Assam Rifles medical centre immediately rendered lifesaving medical care to the patient and stabilized her condition.
She was further referred to RIMS, Imphal for further treatment, it added.
