Bodies oppose transfer of PHC doctor

Imphal, June 05 2022: Progressive United Club's Organisation (PUCO), a joint body of clubs operating in Khongjom circle and Khongjom Cirlce Covid-19 Relief Committee along with people of Khongjom have opposed the transfer of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Khongjom Dr Jenifer Leishangtfiem and demanded the government to revoke the transfer order.

In a release, PUCO secretary Ch Bishwanath stated that denizens of Khongjom circle benefitted immensely due to dedicated service rendered by Dr Jenifer Leishangthem and her colleague Dr Thongam Shamananda Singh (AYUSH) during the Covid-19 pandemic, as they were the only doctors available at PHC Khongjom.

The bodies then cautioned of launching various forms of agitation if the government does not consider their demand.
