Thoubal, December 04 2024:
Meira Paibi activists took to the streets in various locations on Tuesday, registering their protest against arrest of village volunteers by the police.
They demanded protection of the village volunteers who are safeguarding Manipur and its territorial integrity from attacks by Kuki militants.
During the torch rallies carried out in and around Thoubal Phouden Keirambi and Moirangpalli areas, the participants raised demand for withdrawal of charges levelled against volunteers of Aram-bai Tenggol, and held placards inscribed with slogans condemning arrest of village volunteers and asserting that territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be compromised.
As the government had failed to protect the life and property of people, Arambai Tenggol took the responsibility of defending Meetei villages from the Kuki aggression, they reasoned with reference to charges levelled against AT chief Korounganba Khuman by NIA.
Similar protest demonstrations were also held at Thoubal Sagoltongba Wangmataba and hearby localities.
